An instrument designed to frighten, to torment, to haunt.

With GÆSTEN, that vision becomes an instrument. Designed for composers, producers, and sound designers seeking to craft truly disturbing atmospheres, it offers a complete palette for everything from slow-burning dread to fractured chaos — a library born from experimentation, and built to haunt.

The source material behind GÆSTEN is as unsettling as the results. Its foundation lies in original on-set recordings from the infamous Fright House — resonant objects, metallic scrapes, ghostly ambiences, and raw textures captured in a space already steeped in dread.

Alongside this are unused acoustic recordings from those sessions, deconstructed and twisted into new forms. Every sound carries the DNA of horror storytelling at its core.

These raw ingredients were then pulled into a destructive process: torn apart in samplers, warped, reversed, and reshaped into a vast library of over 100 drones and textures, balanced against 80+ organic layers and acoustic sources. The result is an instrument that thrives on duality — the natural and the unnatural, the familiar and the fractured.

A Philosophy of Destruction

True dread comes from transformation. A sound begins as something recognisable — an instrument, a voice, a resonance — but when bent, reversed, and saturated, it becomes unfamiliar. In that uncanny shift lies the unease.

GÆSTEN embodies this philosophy. Its dual-engine design — a pair of samplers — allows you to blend organic and broken layers into endlessly shifting atmospheres. Each engine can stand alone, but the real terror lies in their interaction, where sounds collide, bleed into one another, and emerge as something entirely new.

Inside the Sampler

GÆSTEN features two fully independent samplers that can be layered, blended, and broken apart. Each sampler is its own laboratory of dread.

Inside the Effects

GÆSTEN includes three built-in processors to push your sounds further into the abyss

Creative Intent

GÆSTEN is more than a library — it’s a philosophy made playable. It was built to be both instantly usable and endlessly malleable: a place where curated, cinematic drones can be dropped straight into a score, but also deconstructed into something that feels entirely personal.

From unnerving ambience to fractured chaos, GÆSTEN is a machine for fear — an instrument designed to frighten, to torment, to haunt.
