POST PRODUCTION MATERIALS DELIVERY
To ensure a smooth and efficient workflow for audio post-production, please follow the delivery specifications outlined below. Consistency in file naming and organization is crucial to avoid delays and miscommunication. Ensure that all files are:
Clearly named with easy-to-read, descriptive labels (e.g., "Scene01_Dialogue_Take03.wav").
Organized in appropriate folders that align with their content (e.g., "Dialogue," "Foley," "Score").
Consistent in their naming conventions across all versions and elements.
Before delivering your files please fill in the form to the right then use this link to deliver, please verify that all required items are present and adhere to the specifications in the checklist below.
Audio Delivery Specifications Checklist
Delivery Format: AAF (Preferred) or OMF
Note: OMF does not retain metadata and has a 2 GB file size limit.
File Format: Uncompressed Broadcast WAVE (.wav)
Sample Rate: 48 kHz (48,000 Hz)
Bit Depth: 32-bit float (Preferred) or 24-bit
Audio Handles: Minimum of 5 seconds; 10 seconds preferred
(10 seconds = 240 frames @ 23.976 fps, 300 frames @ 29.97 fps)
2-Pop Tone: 1 kHz tone for 1 frame at exactly 2 seconds before video start
Timecode: Matches reference video format and frame rate
Additional Assets: Include original production audio, alternate takes, score, and alternate versions
Picture Delivery Specifications Checklist
Video File: Include visual timecode burn-in in the lower thirds
Resolution: HD, with 1080p preferred (720p minimum)
Note: Avoid 4K or higher resolution files as they may affect playback in audio workstations.
File Format: Apple ProRes (Proxy) preferred; DNxHD and H.264 are also acceptable
Picture Lock Requirements
Ensure Picture Lock is final before commencing audio post-production.
No changes to the picture after lock—any changes will require a complete redo of audio work, leading to increased costs.
Confirm all necessary approvals are obtained to avoid unnecessary delays.
VFX & Motion Graphics Picture Lock Checklist
Confirm VFX Completion before sending to audio post-production, as timing for sound design relies on visual content.
