An instrument born from deconstruction

The soundboard exists to amplify a piano.

For FRACTURED SOUNDBOARD, it became the instrument itself.

Every source was captured directly from the physical body of the piano using an extensive collection of tools, objects, mallets, bows, metals, plectrums, screws, and found materials. Traditional performance techniques were abandoned in favour of experimentation, abuse, and discovery.

The result is a library that moves effortlessly between cinematic percussion, mechanical textures, tonal strikes, industrial impacts, and abstract sound design.

Some sounds retain traces of their origin.

Others sound like the piano never existed at all.

Four worlds of sound

FRACTURED SOUNDBOARD is organised into four distinct categories designed to cover a wide range of scoring and sound design needs.

FX

Scrapes, swells, resonances, mechanical noises, and abstract textures captured directly from the soundboard. Organic, detailed, and constantly shifting.

Percussive

Aggressive impacts, body hits, metallic strikes, and deep acoustic percussion recorded using a wide range of objects and performance techniques. Built for tension, rhythm, and impact.

Pitched Material

Tonal and semi-tonal strikes created from manipulated sections of the soundboard itself. Perfect for unsettling melodies, evolving patterns, and harmonic tension.

Tempo-Synced Loops

Rhythmic performances built entirely from the source material, available in both 4/4 and 3/4 formats with separate Full, Low, Mid, and High layers for instant customisation.

Percussive and FX content features up to five dynamic round-robin layers, ensuring performances remain organic, varied, and free from repetition.

Every strike, scrape, and impact behaves slightly differently, preserving the unpredictability and physicality of the original recordings.

FRACTURED SOUNDBOARD combines extensive source material with a powerful processing engine designed for modern scoring workflows.

Adjust dynamics and response using ADSR and velocity shaping controls. Sculpt frequencies with a full parametric EQ and integrated spectrum analyser. Push sounds further using delay, custom convolution reverb, compression, limiting, and the dedicated Punish module when subtlety is no longer required.

The result is an instrument capable of moving from intimate acoustic detail to overwhelming cinematic force.
